Petr Pokorny는 1933년 체코 태생으로  Ph.D.는 Oxford University.에서 받았습니다. Pittsburgh 신학교와 와  Princeton,  Tubingen대학교  방문교수를 역임했다.. 그는  Sudiorum Novi Testamenti Societas, Scholarly Forum of the United Bible Societies for Europe and the Middle East의 회장을 지낸바있다.16권의 책과 100편의 논문을 썼다.
